Common Name: Six-Spot Burnet Moth
Scientific Name: Zygaena filipendulae
Conservation Status: Not Threatened
This moth is a type of moth known as a day-flier, moths that are out during the day rather than at night. What’s pretty cool about day-fliers is that they’re just as beautiful (if not more) as butterflies!
The six-spot burnet is a moth commonly found throughout Europe and the UK. They tend to bunch together in large colonies.
